The Green Bay Packers are retaining a free agent from departing, providing a familiar face for Matt LaFleur and Jordan Love in advance of the 2025 NFL season.
The Green Bay Packers were beaten by eventual Super Bowl winners Philadelphia Eagles during the 2025 NFL playoffs. Nonetheless, Matt LaFleur and Jordan Love struggled with the loss.
Following a tough 2024 NFL season in the NFC North, the team acknowledges that they need to improve. Despite having an 11-6 record, they could not beat the Detroit Lions and Minnesota Vikings.
Therefore, the Packers will be counting on the offseason. The front office has made an effort to sign a familiar face for LaFleur and Love in 2025, after being initially silent during free agency.
According to the NFL’s Friday transaction report, Green Bay Packers right tackle Kadeem Telfort signed an exclusive rights tender, meaning he will remain with the team for the 2025 season.

Telfort, 26, signed as an undrafted free agent with the Packers in 2023 and logged his entire first season on the practice squad. In his second NFL season, he played in 16 games, seeing 23 snaps on offense and 79 on special teams.
Josh Jacobs believes Love and the Packers need a top weapon.
The Packers will be a club to watch until Week 1, as many expect the franchise to make trades to aid Love. For example, running back Josh Jacobs suggested the team look for a talented wideout with league experience.
“We’ve got a pretty young group of receivers,” Jacobs told Milwaukee radio station The Game during Super Bowl week, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. “We need a proven No. 1 player, but everyone has the potential to be special.” Somebody we know will be a little more consistent.
Packers add veteran receiver to help Love.
The Packers signed wide receiver and return specialist Mecole Hardman, a three-time Super Bowl champion alongside Andy Reid, Patrick Mahomes, and Travis Kelce, from the Kansas City Chiefs last week.
Hardman may not be the No. 1 WR Jacobs mentioned, but his signing offers the Packers a more veteran presence in the WR group. In addition to extensive experience, this wideout has a track record of championship success.
