Apex Legends, Respawn’s battle royale game, will include a permanent duos playlist beginning April 7th, the developer said on Thursday.
The decision is great news for game lovers who have long wished for greater flexibility in how the game may be played without having to log in for a unique, limited-time event.

Permanent map rotation will also begin on the same day, allowing players to drop into both Kings Canyon or World’s Edge. It is unclear whether players will be able to pick because Respawn does not explicitly state how the map rotation would function.
It’s going to be random, but it appears like the map rotation and duos playlist will be designed for recreational, noncompetitive play at first. The competitive game mode continues to require three-player teams and is presently focused on Kings Canyon, as the first half offered solely World’s Edge play.
Depending of how it operates, it’s clearly evident that Apex Legends follows a greater number of the footsteps of Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds, who built up a variety of locations but offers only a few unique game types, than Epic’s Fortnite.
It has only one ever-changing map but offers a variety of game types at all times and allows users to play in groups ranging from solo to 50.
While duos will be added permanently on April 7th, there will also be a limited-time event that day. The Bloodhound-centric incident, dubbed The Old Ways Lore, will include a fresh playlist called Bloodhound’s Trials, which pits participants versus AI enemy monsters as well as human players.
The event will also include a host of new weapon and character skins, a revised event prize track that allows you to acquire exclusive cosmetics without spending real money, and a separate direct purchase shop for players who are comfortable dumping cash in exchange for new goodies.
